A bit about my journey as an engineer

I graduated in Civil Engineering B.E.(Hons) from Jabalpur Engineering College, Madhya Pradesh in the Year 1967. I remained in the field till the year 1982 as Assistant Engineer, served as Assistant Engineer (Design), Executive Engineer (Design) & Superintending Engineer (Design) from 1982 till my retirement in the April 2005 in Central Design organization of Delhi Development Authority. I was involved in a number of projects related to in-House design of four storied group Housing structures in brick work; to five storied & Eleven Storied group housing Structures in RCC framed work. Apart From these proof checking of major work of Under Ground Tanks, Sump Well Pump house & Road Bridges & Culverts designed by the structural consultants from I.I.T, N.B.C.C, TCS & other private consultants.

After my retirement, I started a Consultancy firm namely i.e. Pitambara Structural Consultants, and remained in the Panel of Structural Engineers approved by the Delhi Development Authority till 2015. As a Structural Consultant, I took on many projects pertaining to DDA, CPWD, MCD & GDA on RCC multi storied, Under Ground Tanks, Bridges Culverts etc.

Apart from these assignments I was also working on the research & development of a new concept for the last ten years and finally reached a complete workable solution as published on a discussion forum as “Magic equations for designing short RCC columns of different shapes with axial ,uni-axial, bi-axial loads “ index page nos. 52 to 60 of 2010 October INDIAN CONCRETE JOURNAL vir Edition.

The concept on the basis of which above Magic Equations were derived and further improved, have now been published in the International Journal of Architectural Design and Management as Article “Simplified RCC Column Design : An International Version “ vide V 36-45 @vol. 3 : Issue 1 IJADM (2020) 36-45 C Journals Pub 2020.
